Austin Thin Films

Dichroic coatings are produced by vacuum depositing multiple thin layers of exotic materials onto glass, which reflect and refract wavelengths of light. A vacuum chamber is needed in order to produce a pure environment for the vapors to travel. By doing this, dichroic filtration is created by transmitting and reflecting pure saturated color from the visible spectrum. Dichroic glass is defined by the transmitted color. Each coating has a different reflected color than the transmitted color. A third color is derived by viewing the dichroic at a 45° angle. Austin Thin Films uses Uroboros glass in their dichroic coatings. The following colors listed are the transmitted colors. Each sheet is either 4" X 4", 8" X 8" or 16" X 16" in size and there are no corners missing. Austin Thin Films is fusible with Bullseye fusible glass, Uroboros fusible glass and, of course, tself. Austin Thin Films is 90 C.O.E..
